I Have 6gb Of Ram And I Still Lag?

On games such as Minecraft and Skyrim, I get lag spikes quite often. Especially on Skyrim. I don’t get it because my brother has 3gb of RAM and never lags on Minecraft but I do with 6.
Here are my specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System
Any help with this lag would be greatly appreciated:)

   Nothing to do with anything you’ve mentioned. Your graphics card is the problem.

   Skyrim needs good quality graphics card. You need to have nVidia or AMD Radeon graphics card with more than 1GB RAM.

   ram will not help your performance that much. I would look into a graphics card.

   Another important thing for video games is graphics card, which one have you?
   EDIT: You will need to change your graphics card to at least 1GB DDR3 if you want to play skyrim properly.

   RAM is not the only factor that affects gameplay, there is also your graphics card, processor and internet speed to take into account. If those don’t fit the requirements, it’s probably best to get an upgrade, doesn’t have to be expensive.
